ASA Backs Sky Bet As Regulators See Beyond Anti-Gambling Hysteria

Sky Bet has notched up a win for the gaming industry by having a ruling against one of its adverts overturned.

In a July 10 update from the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), viewers learned that Request a Bet advert doesn’t contravene regulatory guidelines.

William Hill Increases US Footprint with New Mexico Tribal Deal

William Hill is taking its brand of sports betting to New Mexico as its transatlantic expansion continues.

In a June 24 update, the British operator announced a deal with the Mescalero Apache Tribe. As part of the link-up, William Hill will install its preparatory sports betting technology inside the tribe’s Inn of the Mountain Gods casino.

The new provisions will be installed inside the casino’s Big Game Sports Bar and Apache Spirit Club. When they go live, patrons will have access to “innovative wagering technology,” including electronic kiosks and in-play betting.

888 Relies on Casino Revenue as Poker Flops in 2019

London Stock Exchange-listed 888 Holdings has seen casino profits soar at the expense of its poker interests this year.

Publishing a trading update on June 4, the gaming operator noted ups and downs across its verticals. The highlight of the report was a 29 percent uptick in sports betting revenue.

Also coming in strong for the period between January 1 and May 18, 2019, was casino revenue. Comparing stats on a like-for-like basis to the previous accounting period, 888 showed a 13 percent increase in casino earnings.

National Lottery ticket sales are up by £255 million according to the latest revenue report from Camelot.

Covering the period from April 1, 2018, to March 31, 2019, the financial update shows a total turnover of £7.2 billion.
