Record-Breaking Year for Grosvenor

Beyond the success of its two main poker tours, Grosvenor the Goliath break another record back in August.

As its managed multiple times since it was first played in 2011, the GUKPT Goliath became the largest live poker tournament held outside of Las Vegas last year. Between the 1,000 players qualifying online and those buying in directly, 4,022 unique entrants were collected in 2017.

By the time the registration desks had closed, 6,385 entries (£110 + £20) had been collected, which created a prizepool worth £638,500. When the final chips had fallen, Elliot Marais took home £85,760 after beating Tai Hoang heads-up.

For those with an eye on Grosvenor’s Goliath, the 2018 edition will return to Coventry’s Ricoh Arena between July 26 and August 5.  In the meantime, the GUKPT main tour will kick off in London on January 28 before the action moves to Manchester between February 25 and March 4.

Online Satellites to Boost Entrance Figures

In addition to a host of live satellites taking place at Grosvenor casinos across the UK, qualifiers are now running online. In a bid to improve on last year’s Goliath tally, online satellites got underway before the close of 2017.

Additionally, feeder events to each GUKPT stop will appear GrosvenorPoker.com in the coming weeks and months.

Commenting on the forthcoming year of action, Grosvenor’s media team noted the diversity of the new schedule and the way it caters to bankrolls of all sizes.

“Grosvenor Casinos is now delighted to be able to confirm the dates and schedules for all 2018 GUKPT festivals.
