William Hill Casino ClubAfter nearly four years at the helm of William Hill plc, Simon Lane is moving on from the company. Stepping into his place as the new group finance director is Neil Cooper. Cooper has plenty of experience behind him, having already worked in the same position for Bovis Homes, and before that Whitbread for eight years.

The changing of the guard comes seven months after the £350 million rights issue. Lane is said to be looking for a new and challenging role in the gaming sector.

William Hill’s Chairman, Charles Scott, relayed his appreciation for Lane and the great service he has done for the company over the years. Surely enough, Scott is excited about Cooper joining the betting company, and believes he will be an ideal successor thanks to his “highly relevant experience, both in the leisure sector and in terms of managing the financial aspects of a complex, multi-site business.”

Lane will continue in his current position until an official start date has been set for Cooper. The new finance director will be jumping into the role only a month after William Hill’s £300 million bond deal.

An announcement was also made about a new marketing director position for the company that will see former VP of Yahoo! international marketing, Kristof Fahy, join the team.
