Patrik AntoniusJust last week, Patrik Antonius and Isildur1 broke the record for the biggest pot in online poker on a single hand. A few days ago at Full Tilt Poker, they did it again and managed to also get past the million-dollar mark for an online poker pot. The prior record was $878,958.50 and went to Patrik Antonius. The new record stands at $1,356,946 and yet again went to Antonius.

Let’s take a look at how they reached the richest pot in poker once more. As before, Antonius and Isildur1 were pushing one another to place massive bets throughout the night, consistently reaching high into 6 figures, including an $815,000 pot at one point. The setting of another new record was seemingly bound to happen, as neither player was backing down.

The first million-dollar hand started out aggressively before the flop. Isildur1 placed an opening bet of $3,000, and this saw a $9,000 response from Antonius. This back and forth continued to take the pot to $162,000, until a call from Isildur1 saw a flop of 5 Clubs/4 Spades/2 Hearts.

Antonius pressed forward by betting $91,000 and this was countered with Isildur1 repotting to bring the total to $435,000. Antonius pushed it higher still to $773,000 and then Isildur1 went all-in to create the $1.3 million pot and break another record for online poker.

The cards were turned up Ace Hearts/King Hearts/King Spades/3 Spades for Antonius and 9 Spades/8 Hearts/7 Diamonds/6 Diamonds for Isildur1. All that was left was for the turn and river cards to come down and decide who would come away victorious this time.

A 5 Hearts on the turn greatly diminished Isildur1’s chances, and the following 9 Clubs on the river made Patrik Antonius the first winner of a $1 million online poker pot. Isildur1 kept hemorrhaging money that night, and was eventually down $2.1 million to Antonius and $1.2 million to Ivey. Happily for the mysterious Isildur1, he has continued to dominate in games with Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan, and Isildur1 even managed to take a $1.1 million pot of his own from Phil Ivey recently. Isildur1’s fortunes could be changing for the better once more.

All of this action keeps taking place at Full Tilt Poker. Many have been watching the high stakes tables with baited breath, staying on the lookout for the next sign of a truly massive pot. Will the $1 million+ pots continue, or is this unusually aggressive play that will die down soon? Please tell us what you think in the comments below.
