RouletteDerren Brown has failed in in his latest trick, how to beat a casino. The illustionist bet £5,000 of a home viewers money, Ben, on one number on the roulette wheel.

Brown placed the bet on number 8 and the ball stopped on number 30, right next to number 8.

After losing the bet, Brown can be heard apologising to Ben over the hidden camera and then a crew member tells Ben that they will get his 5 grand back.

The big questions now are whether this even took place in a real casino, was the hidden camera staged, did he mean to lose? And even though the ball ended up one off the number he bet on, does this mean that he was close or it was just luck it even ended up near the number 8. Let us now what you think.

I Think darren brown is amazing, I had a lot of faith he would win. I Think he meant to lose darren brown ALWAYS WINS, he must want the audience to think WHAT, this is how darren brown ends his acts. If you watch his act when he was constantly asking for water, then fainted you would know.

hahaha, I agree with Chrispa, he is a ****. It did make me smile that the smug git who thought he was in for a 175k payout, just lost 5k!

Any casino operators facing taking Brown on? Come on, send a press release out and square-up to him.

This stunt didn’t fail – he got people talking about him, didn’t he? If the ball had landed on 8, people who already believed in him still would, and people who didn’t believe in him still wouldn’t, and no one would be talking about him. By missing, he creates an environment where people start guessing.

Does this one failure prove that the other tricks weren’t staged? Does this prove he’s just been incredibly lucky? Does the close proximity of the ball to the target suggest some sort of mechanical trickery that didn’t quite work? Has he lost his “power”?

Now everyone will talk about him, and even more people are likely to tune in for his next stunt.

If he really had this power, he wouldn’t need a TV show, he could simply multiply his entire fortune by 38 every time he stepped up to a table. Even if he gets thrown out of a casino after 2~3 consecutive hits, he could go from casino to casino, or send in proxies to play on his behalf (as he claims to be able to convey his “luck,” or whatever it is, to others). Do the math – even if he started with a 1$ bet, he would be a multi-billionaire (in the US) after just 6 consecutive hits. Why would anyone with this ability bother with all the effort of a earning a living on TV?

Damn – now he got me talking about him!

Very curious as to whether it was staged. As it was live on CH4, the casino must
be somewhere like France where he would not be known. Afterall the man is
distinctive.

Think about this one, If the casino IS real and as he lost the £5,000, Derren did
tell Ben the victim, that he had watched the wheel for hours. When the camera
finished for CH4, what followed. Did Derren continue putting any bets on, as he
is such an expert. (surely he did something to show what follows for next time)
Derren does not fail completely!! I wonder

What the hell was this stupid blog Derren do for Youtube?
