There is a new player at Swansea City Football Club, and it is all thanks to 32Red Online Casino. Ross Mitchell is a lifelong Swansea fan, and won a competition put on by the online casino.

32Red is the official sponsor of the South Wales club that currently competes in The Championship division – the second highest tier of football in Britain. The competition’s major prize included becoming an honorary member of the club, being listed in the season’s team guide programme, and being awarded a permanent number in the squad for the 2009-10 season.

Swansea City manager Paulo Sousa awarded Mitchell his official jersey, which of course was number 32. “Most fans have dreamt of seeing their name in the matchday programme, and given my lack of footballing ability this is the only way I could have got to do it! The intriguing competition will not be a standalone event, 32Red’s Mark Quayle explained. “This is just the first of many competitions we plan to run with Swansea City to celebrate our partnership with this proud and progressive club. Football is becoming increasingly commercial, but both Swansea City and 32Red know the priority lies with the fans. We both plan to ensure these next two years are as exciting and as special as possible for them.”

Mitchell signed up for the competition through 32Red Casino before playing, and winning, at the blackjack tables.
